Bethesda "Not Positive" Skyrim DLC Will Be Released On PS3

Skyrim's second batch of downloadable content was released onto the Xbox 360 today.

Skyrim's second batch of downloadable content was released onto the Xbox 360 today. 'Hearthfire', the latest DLC to have been released for the title, follows on from the 'Dawnguard', the first DLC release. However, its developers Bethesda have warned that they "are not positive" that either of the downloads will one day come to the Playstation 3. PS3 fans are still waiting for Dawnguard to hit the system. It was believed that Microsoft had agreed a one month period of exclusivity for the content and that it would eventually find its way onto the Sony console later on, but fans are still no closer to seeing the vampiric-centred add on to the popular action-roleplayer. Xbox fans today received Hearthfire, which adds the ability to build a house from scratch and adopt a child, and there is a growing feeling within the gaming community that PS3 fans are being left behind. In the past, Bethesda have referred to an unknown issue as being the sole reason for Dawnguard's delay, and are understood to be €œunsatisfied" with Dawnguard€™s performance on the PS3 and aren€™t happy to release the DLC at this moment in time. Again referring to this "issue", a statement released by the developers on its Official Fan Forum read:
"It's been a few weeks, and we wanted to make sure everyone knows where we're at with Dawnguard. Skyrim is a massive and dynamic game that requires a lot of resources, and things get much more complex when you're talking about sizable content like Dawnguard. We have tried a number of things, but none of them solve the issue enough to make Dawnguard good for everyone. The PS3 is a powerful system, and we're working hard to deliver the content you guys want. Dawnguard is obviously not the only DLC we€™ve been working on either, so the issues of adding content get even more complicated. This is not a problem we€™re positive we can solve, but we are working together with Sony to try to bring you this content. We wish we had a more definitive answer right now. We understand the frustration when the same content is not available on all platforms. When we have an update, we will certainly let you know. We deeply appreciate all the time and support you have given us, and we€™ll keep doing our best to return that."
Of course, one of the most troubling parts of this statement to PS3 fans is "This is not a problem we€™re positive we can solve". With Skyrim continuing to expand in content on the Xbox 360, it's difficult not to take this as a giant kick in the teeth as a PS3 owner. Are you just as frustrated as I am?
