If you didn’t know Call of Duty is somewhat popular, so popular in fact that it is causing issues with Call of Duty Elite. Apparently so many people have tried to sign up for the Call of Duty Elite service, some users are having trouble getting through the registration process.
Here is the quote from Activision about the issue:
“Registration requests for our new live service Call of Duty Elite are exceeding even our most optimistic expectations, which is creating a bottleneck and some players have not been able to register, We have already registered hundreds of thousands of players, and we are working around the clock to increase our capacity as quickly as possible.”
These quotes were actually taken down, but Activision later released another statement through Call of Duty: Elite Twitter stating:
“We’re working to increase capacity for the hundreds of thousands of players wanting membership. Stay tuned for details.”
The Call of Duty franchise never ceases to amaze me. I actually thought this might be a down year for the Call of Duty franchise with all the hype surrounding Battlefield 3 but as usual people have come out in droves to buy the latest Call of Duty game. Not to mention, by all accounts this might be one of the best reviewed Call of Duty games released. Are you one of the millions that has taken work off today to play Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3? Managed to register and briefly got onto the stats page via my xbox but unable to log in through my browser.
Better so far than the extremely flawed battlefield version which I have spent around 2 hours trying to register for and have made little progress with it.
I made it on there once after I set it up. Took forever to get the verification to work. After that, I haven’t been able to log on it since on the system, or the website.
In contrast. I’ve never had a problem with the battlefield version. Just had to figure out how to use it which took all of 10 minutes.

I have the Hardened edition and can not sign onto the elite. Late last night i actually got on for just a few mintues but nothing really worked. My question is about the extra content like mainly the Founder’s camo and in game title. Where do you get this extra content items. Im guessing because the Elite is down and I cant finalize my membership. Any thoughts would be great.

you get founder status regardless of what version you buy so long as you register before nov 11th
You can only get the Founder status if you purchased the hardened edition or if you upgraded to Elite.
Tried last nite for ps3 and it always says, server not responding or just keep going back n forth to the agreement. Been hours trying to get it. $%%$$##$$ just got it but pressed wrong button and took me out, arghhh. If dont get fouder status theyll get an earful from me, mr cojoner :P

If you played the campaign you would know that everything after the elite thing is complete and utter idiocy.
I just bought the new MW3 on Wed, (9th of Nov) and did get the Elite package/perk or whatever, also. I have been having many of he same issues as many mention here. About the “Elite Package” and what it does/says, and what it does or will do, or whatever was said to get people to buy it.
First, I am not sure why I spent the extra money, and the things I REALLY bought it for I ca not get to yet, same issues with locking down, telling you that you are not verified, although you are, (Eventually, took a while too)

I did not get it to save a few bucks of DLC’s that are so far apart that a few bucks makes no difference anyway. (I am a disabled Army, combat veteran, living on a small disability income, and it is not a lot. So the few bucks is not a issues, However paying $50 Bucks more for things I can’t get into, seem to be locked out of, ect,….IS a big deal!
I got mainly for a few reasons, 1) To improve my game, but, like mentioned above it is more stats and stuff, and not much help so far. 2) To be able to FIND, play with, people who have some things in common. And get a clan of people to play with and have fun. The Party option is much the same, but I thought this will help you find, start and meet clans or people who you can choose to play with. It was not until Black op, Mufti-player did I actually meet some people, became friend and played and learned from them. For me, it turned playing the game into a whole new dimension.
I was so tired of getting my butt kicked in multi-player, and people saying horrible things, threatening me, calling me names, verbally abusive, most of you know what I mean. Having been a Soldier for 20 years, been a part of Special Operations as a Green Beret, seen combat, lah, lah lah, being called a “Homo” or “Retard” or told I should stop wasting my time and others and get rid of my console, and even had some person threaten to slit my throat! (I told him where I lived, and it his ‘MAMA” would let him go, I would pay for the plain ticket for him. When i mentioned I was 50, it got worse, I told him to come over, pack a lunch, because kicking my butt and slitting my throat was going to take him a while. (HE did not take me up on my offer, and did not know I was a Vet or any of the training I had gone through)
ALL because, I can’t play as well as others. Some days I do better, but I am usually the guy closer to the bottom than the top. Then I met some cool people, who didn’t care about my K/D ratio, they let me in parties, taught me some things, and became friends. THAT is one or the MAIN REASON I paid for Elite in the first place.
To play with people who want to have fun, help each other out, and enjoy time spent playing a game with friends. It IS JUST a game!!!! Some take it way too serious, sad actually. Their whole world is, (maybe) school, work, chores and sitting for hours playing a video game, and their identity is related to whatever game they play, how they do etc….
Having been to REAL combat, more than once, and REAL Black Ops, saved lives as a Medic, Flight medic and SF medic, and have had to kill, the name calling is no big deal, and this is a game, combat is not. You don’t do missions as a Navy SEAL, Army Ranger or Green Beret as you play the game. For the combat vets and those who were the Elite of the Elite, you know what I mean. To have some 20-25 year old punk calls me names because I can’t play a game, and my manhood is based on how well I play a game, doesn’t bother me much. Most of the time I just tell em to chill, or just leave. But some keep coming, then I can get verbally abusive too.
So little respect out there, and to think I spent 20 years to protect jerks like them, and decent people have died serving this country, so JERKS can have the right to be JERKS, free speech, and all that….
Sorry, I got of course…. I thought the elite would:
A) Help my game play, show me or tell me things I could not see (Like the friends I do play with)
B) Help me to get with and play with like minded people. Be they vets, just play for fun, or want to play with a bunch of others who are not as good as others, and are tired of getting killed 20 times a game. It is less painful to get you butt beat with friends, than alone….So I thought this Elite thing would somehow be a tool for people to meet, who may not have met otherwise, and play a game together.
3)Get a chance to play and win prizes, no matter what level of player or how skilled you are. They SAY, they say, come and play for prizes, and even the bad players will win something. How the do this, I don’t know. Heck, they are still most likely so overwhelmed now the game and the Elite issues came up, that is likely the last thing on their mind.
So in summary: YES, I am having the same issues as many, however, I have faith they will work it out. I figure I will just be patient for a week of so and things will get worked out. What I want to know, is on Black ops, they had double XP weekend, and if you prestiged, you were to receive some sort of prize when you got MW3. What happened to that? Where is my prize, I prestiged, so it better not be lame….laugh
I did get BF3… Though it was a waste, the beta should have been the clue for me. Campaign, great….TOO short, as all these games are today…..Multi-player, same issues, a pain to get on to play, like a separate disc, sign up at “this website and That website” Luckily, the great guys at Gamestop, gave me enough credit for it, that I paid less than half for MW3….
The campaign in MW3, is short, but WOW, graphics were awesome got to see the characters we had known from the past MW games, and finally got to get those darned bad guys who never seemed to die and always got away…
The multi-player….In my opinion, was IS a step back from Black Ops. Black Ops kicked arse in 2 ways, 1) the training mode. Best idea they came up with. The need to promote the person who came up with that idea, and fire!, the moron who took it out of MW3. Combat training WAS/IS the best tool for getting better, trying out different perks, load outs, learning maps, etc…. They made it a bit more fair, which was cool, but what sets it apart was its LOOK. How it all integrated things, like stats, contracts, showed Kills-deaths-assists, and it had a more polished look, and more mature feel and it showed that the creators took pride in what they did or do.
The MW3, multi-player,well they missed it completely. It is like going back to 7th Grade, after you just graduated from Harvard,, Yale, or a school that had substance. Maybe I am not clear, so I will put it this way…. The multi-player of MW3 is not new, they pulled from the drawers the same old tired crap from MW4-2, did a couple of things, and now they think they discovered something great. And I have watched as they all act so proud of what they achieved. They took work already done, changed few things, and discarded two of the primary reasons THAT Black Ops multi-player is the best, and why it was such a hit and made millions! Yet people will buy MW3, play the campaign, discover or come to the same conclusions I did, and then play Black Ops on line instead of MW3. Watch, and you will see this to be true.
Conclusion: This great franchise, (Game)has yet to get it ALL right. The four games, each game is only half as good as it could be. MW2,3 and 3, are head and shoulders above in the campaign potion of the game. All were great, COD Black Ops, the campaign was a total joke, a premise based on old stereotype types, a much used and corny premise, then had far too much of clips of the dude complaining about the numbers,and no way to get past it. More movie, less game, I see that concept being used in most games today. A shame too.
Being ex-Special ops, that was not Black ops, or even close. It wasn’t even close to Special ops. Did the creators actually knew what a Black op was/is?
I was SOOOOO disappointed…I expected the Black Ops games would be about cover ops, Special ops, joint ops using CIA, and military special operations units, and have the game cover the beginnings with O.S.S missions, and working up towards modern day. Has anyone who came up with that Black op game, idea or concept, ever even talk to anyone who knew about special ops, black ops or covert ops? Doubt it.
A side note, the much criticized game “Medal of Honor”, came closer to what it is like as a Special ops warrior,or combat soldier in today’s world, than any game I have seen so far.
I do believe they actually talked with, got advice from and learned about how Special ops soldiers act, talk and carry out a mission. Playing that game, gave me chills at a couple parts, because I lived it.
If the MW franchise come out with another Black Op game, I hope they modernize it, get advice from real people who have done,or still do real covert missions. Put in the multi-player of Black ops, and you have a complete game. A single player that is longer, more up to date, and a multi player that does not remind me of a crayon drawing from pre-school.
You do that, and show how covert ops started, and how they are today. Have a section in Africa, were 2 British Officers came up with an idea, implemented it, and founded the O.S.S and Special ops, and didn’t even know it. The just drove around in the desert, giving Gen. Rommel a hard time.
Read your history before you create a game, specially a military game, and using terms like Black ops, Covert ops, special ops, and not knowing the difference between them, and not knowing the difference between a SEAL, Green Berets, Ranger, Delta Force, or SEAL Team Six, or a CIA mission, or a joint mission is.
Why, for one, you make a better game, second, you honor the men who are in special ops, their tradition, commitment to excellence, and how what they have done from WWI to today, has often changed history or a course of a battle.
So I figure they will work it out, just hope it is soon! BF3, I thought is a waste of time and money, but that is just me. Others rave about it, love it. To this, I say cool.
Some like the new multi-player on MW3, to them, I say OK, for me, it is a step back into grade school.
And the programmers are so proud of this new MW3 game, I saw the pre3miers, trailers, etc….all these computer geeks, so proud of this slightly above average mission. Yet real Special ops, are humble, the men who got Osama, are the most humble people you can meet, smarter than most, and live a live commited to standards so high, only 2 in ten can meet them. And men who have done far greater things, and no one knows, and they are humble and happy to serve our country. I just laughed as I watched the “team” of programmers strut. Then laughed even more that they did not even meet the standard, they just lowered it.
But that is just my opinion.

I am having difficulties activating my founder status or whatever it is actually called. I bought hardened edition and it’s not allowing me to do it. Any suggestions?
I got in to register my name but cant get past that really. Still have not been able to get the double XP that we are suppose to get.takes forever to find a match and don’t back out hoping to find one faster it takes longer. I’m actually disappointed in the game after what I’ve spent on it, especially when the frustration makes me put back in Black Ops. I’ve lost that “wanna play” cause its new. This is on the PS3 system, I surely hope others aren’t having the same crap issues that have made me dub it Modern Garbage 3… I hope they fix it or I just wasted over a hundred bucks.
It let me register after about 20 tries and it worked for a few days. Now if I get on Elite on my PC it says I have never played MW3. I got the double XP, but I don’t know if my founder status worked. I entered the code at the Playstation store and nothing seemed to happen. Does anyone know why my MW3 data is not there? It’s there on the ps3 and my Black Ops data is there. I’m just mad that I payed 50 bucks for this crap and it doesn’t work.

I bought the hardened edition and activated the elite code on day of release this gave me my four hours double xp but no extras. The camo and player cards downloaded on there own last night five days after i put the code in, so they are on there way. As for getting onto the the Elite site i have managed to get on once but it did show founder status next to my name.
