2016's Game Awards were a busy night for Hideo Kojima. Not only did he receive the Industry Icon award, but we also got another look at his new game, Death Stranding, with a new trailer.

The trailer gives us a look at some more of the game's world, and shows off characters played by Guillermo Del Toro and Mads Mikkelsen, and some creepy skeleton soldiers.

Kojima has stated on Twitter that, much like the original trailer that starred Norman Reedus, this new teaser is full of hints about the game for fans to uncover.

Being a massive fan of Kojima's work, I've poured over both trailers and used a few internet sources to extract all the information I can about Death Stranding, and what exactly it is.

So, we're going to take a look at the new trailer and break it down, as well as use the hints from the original trailer in order to put together an idea of what Death Stranding is all about right now.

Here's the Death Stranding Game Awards Trailer Breakdown.

10. The Handcuffs And The Baby

As the tank and soldiers pass by overhead, we see Del Toro's character check the tunnel before proceeding.

As the camera pans down, we see that he is also wearing handcuffs, like Norman Reedus' character before him. In the same fashion, the 'red' portion is around Del Toro's wrist, with the 'blue' section of the handcuffs vacant.

We also see a cord from Del Toro's mid section leading to the container in his arms. There's a moment of hesitation, reluctance even, on the character's face before he connects the cable to the container as the black liquid rises around him, revealing the baby inside.

This seems to link the two, as the camera slows and shows the two's facial expressions almost synchronizing.
