E3 2016: Could Visceral's Star Wars Game Still Be A Han Solo Prequel?

That E3 protagonist HAS to be a placeholder.

Not to keep flogging an old horse or anything, but could the rumour that we're getting a Han Solo game from Visceral Studios, still hold some weight to it?

I admit the chances are looking less and less likely as we slowly but surely learn more about what Amy Hennig and Todd Stashwick are up to, but consider this, Tatooine is an immensely important setting in the Star Wars canon; it's where Obi-Wan went into hiding, where Luke picked up his first lightsaber, and, most importantly, where they both met Han and Chewie.

You can see where I'm going with this, but, having already established that Visceral's as of yet untitled game is set during the Original Trilogy, along with the fact that there's a considerable Imperial presence on the planet, it's not at all unreasonable to infer that we're getting a game set prior to the events of Episode IV, but after Episode III.

All of the art and footage shown was squarely centred around Tatooine, and where did Han start his feud with Jabba? Tatooine.

I know the title is supposedly meant to be independent of all the other Star Wars films so as to avoid stepping on the toes of Disney's planned sequels and spin-offs, but there's no denying this story would make a compelling premise for a game, especially when Han is receiving renewed attention in an up and coming prequel.

Visceral's writers may have denied that the nerf-herder will be cropping up come 2018, but this wouldn't be the first time a placeholder protagonist was used for an E3 showing. In fact, if you remember, in 1313 the case was the same, where the nameless smuggler actually turned out to be a young Boba Fett.

Interesting indeed.

What do you think? Are Visceral working on something Han Solo related? Or is this release completely unrelated to the main Star Wars canon? Be sure to let us know your thoughts below!
