The relentless momentum of Fallout 4 continues as ruthlessly as a wall of radioactive smoke following a nuclear blast. Now, just a couple of weeks after the release of murky old Far Harbor, Bethesda has finally launched mod support for the Xbox One.

Yep, it’s been a long time coming, but the momentous functionality has finally come, as for the first time, console gamers can access the best of what the Fallout 4 modding community has to offer through Bethesda’s official portal.

So whether you want to polish up your Xbox One Fallout 4 experience with player-made patches, beautify it with graphical flourishes or stupefy it by having the most unlikely of animal companions, these mods have got you covered.

11. Spring In The Commonwealth

Several of the popular PC mods offering aesthetic overhauls to the bleak Boston Wasteland made it over to the Xbox One, but the best (and most fully-functioning) one so far is the 'Spring in the Commonwealth' grass mod.

If you find the Fallout 4 landscape a bit grim, then first of all What the hell are you doing playing Fallout 4? But secondly, try this mod which will make things decidedly more verdant. It's not quite as varied as the PC version, but still makes a huge difference, filling the land with a mix of green and yellow grass, and flowers like daffodils, daisies, and err... all the other flower types.

Try it. It's lovely, which isn't something you can say about much else in Fallout 4...
