Football Manager 2017: 20 Best Assistant Managers

11. Mark Venus

Football Manager 2017
SI Games

Age: 49.

Club: Coventry City.

Key Stats: 17 Man Management and Level of Disciple, 16 Motivating.

A lower league stalwart in the '80s and '90s, Mark Venus is a mediocre coach, but a guy who excels away from training. He's an expert motivator whose lowly starting position makes him easy to obtain, provided you're not managing Accrington Stanley.

Venus starts as Coventry's Caretaker Manager, but he rarely ends-up getting the gig full-time. From there, he'll transition back to his default Director of Football role, but he's just as comfortable as an Assistant Manager, and will rarely say no to a decent offer.

Andy has been with WhatCulture for eight years and is currently WhatCulture's Wrestling Channel Manager. A writer, presenter, and editor with 10+ years of experience in online media, he has been a sponge for all wrestling knowledge since playing an old Royal Rumble 1992 VHS to ruin in his childhood. Having previously worked for Bleacher Report, Andy specialises in short and long-form writing, video presenting, voiceover acting, and editing, all characterised by expert wrestling knowledge and commentary. Andy is as much a fan of 1985 Jim Crockett Promotions as he is present-day AEW and WWE - just don't make him choose between the two.
