GTA Batman: What If Rockstar Made A Game Set In Gotham

If we ran Rockstar, we’d start attempting to secure the Batman license immediately. Of course we don’t unfortunately, so we’ll just have to content ourselves with our imagination.

If you played Rocksteady€™s ultimate Batman experience, their Arkham Series, you were surely captivated. In fact you€™d probably be hard pressed to imagine how any other company could produce a better Batman game. Well imagine for a moment that there is a multiverse, and in one of the alternate realities - Earth 2 €“ Rockstar secured the rights to the property, instead of Rocksteady. We€™d have had a completely different Bat-beast on our hands and who knows, maybe it€™d even have been better. And that's a big maybe. We€™ve spent some time (too much time?) imagining what this alternate Rockstar Batman game would have been like and here is our hypothesis!

Concept

The concept is quite simple €“ the execution maybe not so much €“ but the premise of this Batman game can be explained in a sentence: €œa fully open-world Gotham City that you€™re free to peruse at your leisure and in whatever manner you choose, while progressing the story through missions that periodically become available€. It€™s a classic Rockstar format that€™s worked for them time and time again and they€™ve proven throughout their many acclaimed releases that as a genre that the Third-Person Sandbox format still has enough depth left to be mined for unique, innovative gameplay. And that€™s where The Caped Crusader comes into the picture. If there€™s one defining characteristic that could indicate why Rocksteady€™s Arkham series did so well, it€™d be for the fact that it€™s the closest you can come to being Batman without actually diving off a skyscraper. Well, a Rockstar Batman game could deliver that same feeling and more. You could visit the Batcave, any time you wanted. Cruise about Wayne Manor at leisure, as Batman or as Bruce Wayne. You could switch between Caped Crusader and acting as a billionaire playboy at will and you could visit any of Gotham€™s famous districts whenever the urge overtook you. In short, you are Batman and Gotham is yours. The only question is what will you do next? Click "next" below for part 2 concerning the "Story" aspects...
