If you played Rocksteadys ultimate Batman experience, their Arkham Series, you were surely captivated. In fact youd probably be hard pressed to imagine how any other company could produce a better Batman game. Well imagine for a moment that there is a multiverse, and in one of the alternate realities - Earth 2 Rockstar secured the rights to the property, instead of Rocksteady. Wed have had a completely different Bat-beast on our hands and who knows, maybe itd even have been better. And that's a big maybe. Weve spent some time (too much time?) imagining what this alternate Rockstar Batman game would have been like and here is our hypothesis!
Concept

The concept is quite simple the execution maybe not so much but the premise of this Batman game can be explained in a sentence: a fully open-world Gotham City that youre free to peruse at your leisure and in whatever manner you choose, while progressing the story through missions that periodically become available. Its a classic Rockstar format thats worked for them time and time again and theyve proven throughout their many acclaimed releases that as a genre that the Third-Person Sandbox format still has enough depth left to be mined for unique, innovative gameplay. And thats where The Caped Crusader comes into the picture. If theres one defining characteristic that could indicate why Rocksteadys Arkham series did so well, itd be for the fact that its the closest you can come to being Batman without actually diving off a skyscraper. Well, a Rockstar Batman game could deliver that same feeling and more. You could visit the Batcave, any time you wanted. Cruise about Wayne Manor at leisure, as Batman or as Bruce Wayne. You could switch between Caped Crusader and acting as a billionaire playboy at will and you could visit any of Gothams famous districts whenever the urge overtook you. In short, you are Batman and Gotham is yours. The only question is what will you do next? Click "next" below for part 2 concerning the "Story" aspects...
