Grand Theft Auto is a series that’s been under more scrutiny than just about any other. While it’s usually associated with drugs and violent hooker deaths in the media, it’s the freedom to do things like ride a flying golf cart, go crazy with RPGs, and hijack tanks that makes GTA such a beloved series for players. GTA IV took a step away from the ridiculousness of the previous games in the series in favor of a more serious tone, although total freedom to the player was still there.
With GTA V’s announcement, along with a trailer and a handful of gameplay images, fans are wondering what exactly this next installment will be like. Will it stay the course of realism, or draw more from the insanity that made GTA: San Andreas such a great game? Whichever course Rockstar takes, here’s a list of 10 things that will make this the sequel we’ve been waiting for.
10. Better Cheats
Grand Theft Auto IV is an immensely fun game. With refined shooting and a realistic phyiscs engine, wanton destruction had never been more enjoyable. However, the game lacked some of the fun cheats that its predecessors had. While IV did include the ability to spawn certain vehicles, add and remove police notoriety, and refill health and ammo, it totally skipped flying cars. What gives?
Even if Rockstar continues with the realistic storyline and physics, they can still give us cheats to modify it just a bit. How about giving us slow motion, being able to drive cars on water, giving pedestrians weapons, or being able to switch gravity on and off at will? Can you imagine free play multiplayer with everyone in flying tanks? Amazing.

You couldn’t fly planes in gta iv because the map wasn’t big enough it would have pointless. Rockstar have already confirmed the planes in gta v.
I’d like to see better fighting (like Sleeping Dog). Guns are ok…but gets boring. Rather be sucker punching someone that got in my way
I hope that the map for GTA V is much bigger than San Andreas.
i completely disagree, for good reasons, big maps are heartless and soulless and simply empty, i would much prefer a smaller complete world, what i mean is a world where you can actually enter every building, idc if a lot are the same inside, GTA IV already did that for the 5 buildings you can enter that are not houses, or at the very least do what spiderman 2 did, mark the buildings you can enter on the map
co op would be brill, niko if co op is brought in to story mode it wll be optional so stop beig a selfish brat just cos u dont want it dont mean it shouldnt be in the game, just means u dont have to play it co op, some ppl like myself think the opposite and that the game will be ruined without co op, iv wanted co op in gta for a long time run around by yourself gets a little boring.
Why want co op when there’s multiplayer freemode available?
well luis, I understand you live alone and don’t have friends irl who visit you, but I would like to play GTA co-op with my gf offline and just mess around without worrying about ping and latency or having to buy a sepeate console so she can get online with me.
Everything in this article has either already been confirmed or is an obvious addition that should just be expected at this point.

full customization? are you silly have u ever played gta? if you want that f*** off to saints row. Gta has always has a set charecter with customisable clothes. Now stop making rubbish articles u waste of space!
The fact that you can enable flying cars, rampaging pedestrians and toggle gravity shows how much research has gone into this article. These can all be achieved on the PC version of the game.
I dont care much for console cheats….if you want to play a game, buy a pc!
I respect your opinion, but I don’t think that saying “buy a pc” would really cut it for someone who wants to do these things on a console.
adding to what they said, consoles are much cheaper and more convenient, to play games you dont need to buy any pc, no you need a gaming pc, the most expensive kind, otherwise it wont be able to run it perfectly

Saints row 3 sucks.
why does everyone complain about gta IV? the action, and anarchy induced mayhem was the best of the series. the bullet impact, police chases, and gunfights were the best in any game yet. the game has eveloved in to something better than any of the gta games before it. the weapons were superb, the mechanics weren’t perfect, but they were great at the time. the story was freakin awesome too. and what is this fixation with multiplayer? gta has always been, and should be, an engrossing single player experience. everything doesn’t need to be COD.
Hopefully my points didn’t come across as “bashing” GTA IV, it’s a superb game. I’m just referring to it when making comparisons because it’s the most recent and most relevant.
Might as well throw in better graphics, new story and less glitches while you’re throwing in other obvious crap.

Some of your ideas were good but some really sucked. You didn’t do much research it seems. They’ve already confirmed that the game will take place in Los Santos and surrounding country areas, including the mountain range. They also confirmed the return of aircrafts in GTA V aswell. And character customisation would be really terrible if was Saints Row style. I like being given a character and making him work out and eat to get fat and muscly, maybe take him to a barber to get his haircut. But Completely customising him would make it not a GTA game.
Why is nobody concerned with player fredom? what about more enterable buildings? creating your own gang? being able to sell/buy drugs? buy and set up a business?
I completely agree with these except for the having your own gang thing. I’m not sure it would work with the GTA formula. Then again, what do I know

i heard the reason you couldnt fly planes in gta iv was because the city was based off of new york and the whole 9/11 tragedy they didnt want to take it there having player fly around in jets and jumbo planes crashing them into buildings type thing even if its a video game
NO character customization. GTA is great as it is. That customization like saints row would be crap. It does not need thta saints row crap. Period

I heard it was just to make it more realistic cause how often do you see planes flying in and out of skyscrapers in manhattan, or even anywhere near it besides at 30,000 ft.
With the exception of customization. This sounds a lot like GTA San Andreas. I’m not complaining that is what I would like. GTA San Andreas is still the best GTA.

So what you want is Saints Row The Third…. go out, buy it, play it, and then tell me im wrong.
I would prefer more abilities, take Red Dead Redemption for example, Dead-Eye was brilliant especially unlocking the ability to mark players. Not GTA Dead-Eye but Abilities like it. Also great list, I agree entirely.

They Should Have? a population Cheat where you kill millions of people in or with a car and have better cheats without so much limits nightvision googles thermo chrome vision infarred vision etc.. use a flood cheat all people chase after you? blow up all building cheats. more backup to 20 people not 2 like gta iv so more fun add people like more back up if not enough pick your own but you got to complete the game 100% infinite health only if completed story mode without cheats and other exclusives that are interesting like sex shops camera shops should add before completed game terminators in game ponies horses like red dead redemption add some past into it row boats
