Grand Theft Auto is probably one of the world’s most recognised games, right up there with other righteous games like Pac-Man and Tetris. Okay, it might not be as revolutionary or pinnacle, but it’s as impactful as you’re going to get for modern day gaming, however, after already having four of these games about stealing cars is having a fifth one outstaying its welcome? Definitely not!
Although I’m confident that that’s a statement that we can pretty much agree with I don’t think we are all exactly certain on why… well, due to lacking details I’m not so certain either, but I can still come up with 10 reasons of why we should be excited for what ‘should’ be in GTA 5. No pressure Rockstar.

Wouldn’t a more appropriate name for this article be “Ten things we’d like to see in GTA5″? This is more of a wish list than ten concrete facts about the game to get excited about.
Some very good suggestions, I like most a lot but don’t really care what happens with multiplayer…it must be really hard for the developers to decide what direction to take the francise in. Everyone wants the best of what they’ve done so far plus more, but it seems they aim to give different titles different tones, based on the location/them, i.e VC was Scarface, SA was gangbanging (after Los Santos went off theme, and to its detriment IMO). I would love the realism of IV plus a heavy theme & the OPTION of all the fun craziness

I’d like all of these and the ability to destroy entire buildings and house etc with bomb or plane or something and be able to set fire to them. I’d like fire to keep burning until everything is gone or the firetrucks come. That would be fantastic.
I hope they do NOT have a FPS setting. That will kill the game!

I’ve hardcored gta since the first top down crimefest, and i’m secure in the knowledge that rockstar will deliver the goods. I’m hoping for a return to the san andreas/vice city cartoonish FUN! I’d like to see gta v br somethinhg even bigger.
All of these suggestions are ok but they are nothing new/big. How about to have a storyline where you can create your own gang who are your real friends playing from their own home but we can still receive the same results. Smal individual missions to be taken care of separately and a scheduled bank Robery for example or another planed gang ambush. While 1 player is truly the boss the others should have a way of making their own money date their own girs that the boss dumped(example).
Drive each other cars or loan their weapons.
Additionally, it would be fun to travel for small mafia type missions to Europe. Asia etc or suth America. I’d take my buddies to copa cabana any day.
Maybe even becoming the next Hugh heff buy his ranch and have some sick parties. That would be more realistic and fun to involve your friends and get them to get with playboy bunnies.
I think I should write this storyline. I have many more ideas.

GTA IV was a massive step backwards for the series. I just hope they build off San Andreas rather than IV.

Why is it i cannot remember being able to buy things in San Andreas? A House or 2 maybe but not businesses? Vice city sure, but then vice city was and probobly always will be the best GTA!

that’s just exactly what I thought as well..most of this stuff is already in SR3..and I doubt GTAV will have the same depth of character customization…sure the graphics will be better, the world larger and the setting more realistic… but I don’t need any of this, I’d rather save my money for SR4 and the upcoming addon
you guys are probably newer GTA fans…. not a problem with that, but if you prefer saints row over GTA, you’re slept in the head. Realism is one thing. There’s nothing real about Saints Row, story is another thing, and not everbody wants a game were you create a goofy character with pink boxers, a mowhawk, big tits, ect. esspecially when all of Rockstars protagonist have been badasses.
Agreed with Areyouserious.. Been with Grand Theft Auto since 3, and from what I can tell these two games aren’t even comparible. Grand Theft Auto’s always been about a deep story line, identifying with the characters, being a badass ^^.. They’re both going for different things.

Ok a few of these are good idea but really you should learn, that if you drive at those speeds around corners on the street you will swerve like a bitch and also have you even watched the trailer?, looks like gangster feature san andreas had is gone and good ridance to it, it was san andreases worst featuire imo, gta has always been about mobsters and gta 4 went back to that and gave it a great story and gameplay, lets look forward to more realistic stuff like that =], also i do agree that it got a bit boring at time with the lack of tanks and stuff and planes, but the planes was because of 9/11 and liberty being a redesigned new york =/, so i hope they come back so we can have mindless fun, but i want a gta game not a saints row game which is thr to be unrealistic and too comic, gta has always been dark, but comic, with realistic-ish situations and thats why i love it, so roll on october 23rd i say =]
If you want a mafia style game.. Play Mafia 2 you mook. Rockstar has always tried to let us players experience dfferent parts of the wrong side of life, and thats what makes them great. You want to be a real estate tycoon with ties to organized crime, killing the leader to make your own empire? Vice City. You want to be an immigrant, coming to america to pursue the american dream but getting pulled into a life you tried to put behind you? GTA 4. DO YOU WANT to experience the close brotherhood that is a street gang? Fighting for territories wihtin your city and earning respect as Tookie Williams did? San Andreas..
My point being is that gta was NEVER about mobsters ONLY. GTA, like many other games, are just a way for us to step out of reality and either train for what we were born to do.. Or do what we cant or arent willing to in life. Dont constrain Rockstar with your one sided views, theyre doing exactly what the people want with each title.. LETTING US RELEASE OURSELVES.
Planes were still added into the GTA III series after 9/11. 9/11 had nothing to do with the removal of planes in GTA IV. They weren’t added because of realism. Get your facts straight!

I don’t think you or the author REALLY know why GTAIV was the way it was. It had almost nothing to do with “wanting it” to be more real. It had to do with that they had pretty much no choice.
GTASA was released on PS2 and XB. It used 5.2gigs on a DVD.
GTAIV was released on PS3 and unfortainly XB360. It used about 6.8gigs on a DVD.
See the problem. Theres a reason why features, the city being smaller etc where all in GTAIV, its because they didn’t have the space for such things. Period. There really isn’t any other reason.
Why would Rockstar just want to take a step back like that? Mind you BOTH Sam and Dan Houser went on record as to saying DVD9 HINDERED GTAIV! I mean what more can one say about such a thing? Is it to the point where gamers are just getting dumber?
Its the same reason why FFVII was canned on N64 and made on PS1. Go back and look at what FFVII EVEN WAS ON N64! It wasn’t cloud people. LOL. Square’s only going to make a game based on what space they have. Period. Its like me writing and planning a GTA and i don’t even know what the next gen of hardware even is. Those plans clearly can change given hardware limitations. Squares did with FFVII and i believe 100% so did Rockstars with GTAIV.

The thing I want the most is to be able to buy any kind of property you so choose(Mansion, house, apartment, Townhouse, studio, Buildings, or office space). A bigger selection of cars would be nice(NO MANUAL SHIFTING!!!) Buying and/or starting your business would be interesting. Also I would love being able to go to a supermarket buy food then take it home and prepare it. They should bring back videogames and this time you should be to go to a store and buy the games you want. They should have simple videogames that are like Mario, mario kart, donky kong, street fighter etc. Better car customization and i would loooove it if they had car dealerships then you could go to them and actually buy cars and even choose the color you want and the options you want on them and having the option of going online and ordering a new or used car would make the game that much more interesting. Buying planes would be awesome to. Flying those huge commercial planes would be so fun and actually being able to fly a plane full of people to a destinations(from one end of LA to the other) I think living with a girlfriend would also be a good idea(but not getting married, who wants to be married in a video game???) I am a strong believer though that GTA games should NEVER have children in them, the idea of that is just wrong and might cause GTA to be banned all together so be careful what you wish for. The character should be as epic as Niko (Niko was by far the best GTA character ever)
Seems that everyone is forgetting about Red Dead Redemption when comparing. There were tons of options for getting money and spending money, side things to do such as hunting or robbing and such, as well as the Fame/Honor system which gave more ‘character’ to the character.. That’s what I would like to see in V.

I like the arcade games in gta it be good if you could play the original gta at the arcade in gta5 a game within a game that would be cool.

If u call Vice City as the BEST GTA, then you don’t have any business playing a GTA at all. Vice City was good for it’s time but San Andreas set a new benchmark while GTA 4 raised the bar to an all new level. The only thing I hated in GTA 4 was the driving controls. TERRIBLE!
Why do people keep saying that the driving mechanics in GTA IV was rubbish? Yeah at first it’s fairly difficult, but with practice it’s becomes second nature almost. The realism was astonishing, you had to accelerate/brake/steer in a certain way to accomodate for vehicle counter-balance. If your car is sliding everywhere, then don’t accelerate so much. Simple! :)
I never had a problem with the driving in GTA IV.. it just takes a bit of practice and then you’re fine.
what about if you shoot the building and it actually brakes and if you brake ª window you can climb through it lιƙε ª tall building or somin. That would make the game ª winner and then while you climbed through the window you can snipe.you must be able to go to ª place lιƙε Ȋ̊η san andreas and play co-op that would be ∕̴ℓωεڪømε please Jυƨτ try you’re best to make Τƕιƨ game the best game ever

Add another side mission! Bus Driver! Bring back Cab missions! as well as cop missions. Paramedics!!

All of these changes in gta5 would indeed make it an insane game, being a fan of the sims this is essentially mixing the games which IMO is awesome. The thing is, all of these things most likely won’t happen. I could leave out all the customization of cars, players, etc if they put in ability to make permanent gangs with friends and make the economy better with jobs, property, etc. let’s just hope R* read and liked this article…
Can’t say i’d want this to happen at all. You’re talking about adding realism and repercussions to a game series that is based on anything but that. That’s more or less the point and the refreshing factor of GTA in my opinion, that everything is to be taken with a sense of humour. If you add realism and simulation to every game you’d like, you’d just end up buying the same game in different skins over and over.
So, this article is basically about you wanting GTA V to be the same as GTA San Andreas
If they do decide to bring back single player jobs, can they please make a bus driver job? It’ll save people time from having to make the mods for it on the PC and it’ll give more exposure to PS3 and XBOX360 users.
they need to incoparete all this in online mode like in red dead also they had wanted people in san andreas when you got into cop cars that online would be briliant but they need to be able to spend your money that you earn or it be worthless to go get people for the bounty
Well, Condisering i drive a 4.5L V8 Ferrari, and i have to admit from time to time i like to give it a bit of wellie, well ofcourse thats why it is a high performance car, its not been put in there to not use. Sometimes when i accelerate from a green light i like to see if i can get up to a certain speed before having to brake. It is people like me that crash and im aware of that as i have previously crashed an Audi R8 and that costed a lot of money. Bearing in mind i onl get paid £120,000 a year after tax crashing a 80,000 car is not cheap. And yes BOB is correct no cars slide like on an ice rink, sometimes it is difficult to controll depending on if you completely floor it, but its rare that its uncontrollable. But sometimes very scary when one second you at 40mph and the next few seconds your up to 100mph, and then up to ridiculous speeds that im not proud of doing but its hard not to when you have that sort of power below you.
I highly doubt that tanks will be only be there for transport. If they were if would defeat the purpose of the having it in the game. The only thing it would do is look cool.
I love the firefighter idea, because i’m a firefighter and i always love driving the fire trucks around but un-able to do missions.
Same here i love putting out car fires in San Andreas and driving the fire trucks they need fire uniforms and gear in the new game and building fires need to be added and jobs where u can work as emeregency personal and get money by working as a firefighter , police officer , and a paramedic and have lots of missions with them and lots of calls

You know what you can do with GTA 5 ? YESS PUT IT IN YOUR “” ! GTA 4 is really great super game yes ! BUT to get it started or keep it running gives me many many times almost a hart attack . Incredible stress after reloading again and again ( i bought the orginal game dvd,s ) , even on a clean windows system after formatting and reinstalling windows incl updates . But after i am calm down i will buy GTA 5 too offcourse when its released , but i hope i dont need valium tablets to install it or to keep it running !
