In the November 8th issue of Game Informer last year, Rockstar announced the inclusion of “randomised dynamic missions” in its upcoming and fervently anticipated GTA V release.
Then, the developers provided certain examples of these random encounters, as they are to be known, such as encountering a broken down car or a hitchhiker on the side of the road. It was then stated that players could approach the situation, which “may extend this ordinary occurrence on to something much more”.
Those of you who have played Rockstar’s Red Dead Redemption will be perfectly well aware of these “randomised dynamic missions”, or, if you have ever played Bethesda’s Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, you will also know what I am talking about.
In Skyrim, Bethesda incorporated something known as a “Radiant Quest” system which generated similarly random encounters for the player on their travels through the open world.
In Red Dead Redemption, you might encounter a thief and be given the option to either pursue and capture them for a reward or simply do nothing.
Now that we know this “randomised dynamic mission” element will be incorporated into GTA V, it throws up many possibilities and different ways in which it can be implemented.
Here, we take a look at 5 random encounters we’d like to stumble upon in the open world of San Andreas in GTA V.

Great list, Joseph.
One of the great things about the random encounters in RDR was that they didn’t always make you a hero. Sometimes, you would be left looking particularly foolish as you scurried away from a bandit ambush, after being duped into following the damsel in distress.

Great list..! i would love to see murder mystery and shark attacks especially!..Cant wait for the release of Gta V although a demo right now would be awesome! :)
Thanks guys, I don’t know about you but I am extremely excited about the potential for randomised dynamic missions in GTA 5. Being an avid Skyrim fan I know how fun random encounters can be, and more importantly, they will increase the game’s longevity/replay value as well.
I’m afraid I only managed to get about halfway through this article before turning off the PC and playing Red Dead Redemption
Actually, the bodies were explained in the introduction dvd that came with a special edition soundtrack. Well, at least one was. The Sindaccos and the Leones went in on the casino together, but the only way Salvatore would give the Sindaccos money for the casino was if they got rid of their guy that did the books. So the Sindaccos had their guy killed and two lackeys buried him in the desert. So one body is definitely due to the Sindaccos, and since they were burying him there, it stands to reason that they put the other bodies in that spot.
