GTA V Screenshots Are Next-Gen Quality?

Who knows what’s in store for GTA V; with Rockstar keeping so tight-lipped on the subject I wouldn’t rule anything out yet.

Since the GTA V reveal trailer way back in November last year the rumour mill has been turning quicker than the wheel of a Lamborghini. It€™s slowed in pace however, in the light of the fact that Rockstar really haven€™t released any further information. Until now. With Rockstar releasing two brand new screenshots from inside the GTA V world in a recent €˜Asked and Answered€™ post (the aftermath of which we€™re still currently right in the eye of) it€™s started gathering momentum all over again. Posted on WhatCulture just yesterday, these new screenshots depict a shiny, detailed and epically scaled Los Santos which you€™ll most likely remember from the revered GTA: San Andreas. If you haven€™t yet seen these new shots, take a look. If you have, it surely won€™t hurt your eyes to see €˜em again: This new eye-candy has invariably dredged up further guesswork from the blogosphere once again; an article on product-reviews.net even argues that, with the new screenshots looking so stunning compared to what we remember of GTA IV that they represent high-end PC graphics rather than console. With the level of reflection in the water in shot one and the sheer detail of Los Santos in shot two, these shots represent a level of quality that wouldn€™t necessarily be out of place on the next generation of consoles. While that€™s debatable, you can€™t deny that the shots are stunning. Of course Rockstar would be shooting themselves in the foot if they were even considering a release on next-gen consoles; its common knowledge that console release titles are risky business with so many inevitably holding off for the first price drop. Who knows what€™s in store for GTA V though; with Rockstar keeping tight-lipped on the subject I wouldn€™t rule anything out yet.
