GTA VI: 10 Things It Must Learn From Vice City

10. Go Back In Time

One thing that made GTA: Vice City memorable right from the get-go was its setting. From the very first scene where a Hawaiian-shirted Tommy and his associates meet lawyer Ken Rosenberg with his pastel-pink suit sleeves rolled up, it was obvious that an 80s thrill ride awaited. Aside from GTA: London 1969, a much-loved expansion to the original game; and San Andreas, Vice City's much maligned follow-up set in 1992, very few Grand Theft Auto titles have broken with the modern day timeline and told a story set in the past. Could it be time for GTA to revisit a British setting with a recreation of London or even take us somewhere else but in the Seventies? What about visiting Liberty City - the GTA world's facsimile of New York - in the Seventies during the height of power for the Five Families (The Commission from GTA IV)? Imagine a mission where the player runs into an equivalent of Donnie Brasco. Sounds like a winner.
