Jet Set Radio Grinds Onto PS3 and Xbox 360

Sega's teaser trailer unveils Jet Set Radio as the next Dreamcast game coming to XBLA and PSN.

Sega of America has released a teaser trailer titled €˜Guess who€™s back?€™ on their youtube channel. The trailer which doesn€™t name the game they are talking about states that another Dreamcast game is being re-released on XBLA and PSN. The trailer ends by asking €˜Guess who€™s back?€™ and showing a familiar logo. Now for those of you old enough to have owned a Dreamcast during its brief lifetime (has it really been more than a decade?) the game in question should be obvious. It€™s Jet Set Radio! http://youtu.be/cfDlHdERxrE Jet Set Radio gained a lot of attention the first time round for its use of the relatively new cel-shaded graphics (Long before Legend of Zelda Wind Waker on Gamecube, but after Fear Effect on PSone). The game itself played like a cross between Tony Hawks Pro Skater and Driver, where you€™d skate around grinding rails and performing tricks whilst avoiding cops as you had to graffiti various locations. Whilst the game received rave reviews upon its initial release it never received the sales to match its praise. A Game Boy Advance version and original Xbox sequel followed, but other than cameos of its characters appearing in games like Sonic & Sega All Star Racing the series has remained dormant until now. It was long speculated that a sequel would be made for the Wii as the graffiti element of the game seemed a natural fit for motion controls. It€™s unknown at this time if Playstaion Move or Xbox Kinect control methods will be available for the game. A full reveal trailer and release date can be expected in the near future.
