It’s that time of year where I start looking forward to demos. Demos: for all the claims by developers that what we are being allowed to play is a work in progress and what we see does not represent the final product, it would be pretty foolish of them to release something so far from finished that it actually acts as a deterrent.
The luxury Madden demos have over something like the yearly disappointment of Pro Evo however (Heads up – not this year) is that it’s the only NFL game on the market, and they could probably just put their feet up and merely give Madden 12 a roster upgrade. But that assumption would be wrong: Madden 12 got progressively worse to the point where the game was openly laughing at you and your family.
But thankfully the laughter’s stopped long enough for this new incarnation to be… different.
Pros
1. The Passing Game
Madden 12 suffered greatly from the performance enhancing bugs commonly found in linebackers and corners. Thankfully it seems wide-receivers are now more keen to attack the ball and corner-backs aren’t capable of catches beyond the ability of both players and humans in general.

madden sucks. i hope that 2k take the licens back and realase a nfl fotball for pc!
I like football, but I’m not a huge fan of the games. However, I have played most of them.
I have to say, I liked the demo. The new physics engine seems to work pretty well. It makes the game feel quite a bit different and I think it’s for the better. The canned animations were really getting old year after year. It’s not perfect, but they are definitely taking steps in the right direction.
The commentary was pretty good. The thing that stood out for me is when similar things would happen, they had plenty of variations for things to say instead of repeating themselves. However, I did scratch my head a bit when I was playing as the Redskins and they failed to mention anything about RG3 during pre-game. They instead talked about the receivers.
The presentation is pretty good too. The new physics engine definitely makes things look better as far as players tackling and falling into each other. I like it. On occasion, there are some weird bugs with arms or legs moving in unnatural ways. It works pretty well for the most part, though. The broadcast overlays and stuff look good as well. Post-play replays and slow motion replays are also well done.
Overall, I think the franchise is finally making some progress. Mostly because of the new physics engine. Well done.
GAME SUCKS, CANT WAIT TILL 2K SPORTS GETS THE LICENSE BACK.
The license is never going to 2k sports.. They haven’t even worked on a football game in 8 years. If they want to even compete it’ll take 2 years and on top of that they are not willing to give up more money than ea does for the license of the nfl.. The nfl has created a monopoly of football videogames.. This is the reason monopolies are illegal in the US.. It’s just bad for the consumer.. But EA is promising a 3 year plan with this new physics engin so just give it time.. But in the meantime give up on the 2k license cuz its never gonna happenn
