Mass Effect 3: Take Earth Back Trailer

With Mass Effect 3 only a few weeks away we have been treated to a new CGI trailer for the upcoming finale to Bioware's epic Sci Fi RPG. The battlefield is Earth and it is a war against the Reapers. That's right, those things that have given you so much trouble in the past when there was only one of them. Well now there are lots.

It is said (by me) that the key to a good third instalment is scale, everything must scale up. The action has to be bigger, the stakes have to be higher, the emotions have to be more emotional. Well it certainly seems from this trailer that the issue of scale has been addressed. We aren't just focusing on Shepherd and the Normandy blasting their way through hoards of Geth and Husks but instead, a little girl playing with a model spaceship. This says there will be a dramatic approach to the attack on Earth, one that may tug the heart strings. It is cross cut with real space ships getting blown to hell and Shepherd kicking ass and taking names. This says the action will be epic and awesome. All in all this is a reassuring release that further adds to the excitement surrounding the game. After the stellar Mass Effect 2 (and the even finer PS3 polish up) expectations are high.
