Mass Effect 4: Andromeda To Have Action-Packed Opening Level?

It seems part three's focus on gunplay isn't going away any time soon.

2016 should be the year we finally get a glimpse of the new Mass Effect running on current hardware, and we're off to a flying start as one of Bioware's team has let slip the opening section of the game features what sounds like an action-heavy focus. You can see the revealing tweets below from Lead Producer Cameron Lee, as it definitely sounds like Andromeda will be following in the footsteps of both Mass Effect 3, throwing you into the middle of a hectic set-piece right off the bat. Obviously what's being said is very brief, but considering all the facets of gameplay that make up any given Mass Effect - from conversation to especially exploration in this newest instalment - the fact that Lee highlighted "shoot things in the face" tells us a lot about how the first hour is going to go.

You can read a full breakdown of the newest information here, but choice cuts involve your new hero being called Commander Rider (likely named after Sally Ride, the first American woman in space), your new ship is called The Tempest and your quest is to find a new solar system for humanity to call its own, following the events of the original trilogy. Let us know in the comments if you're excited about a new Mass Effect, and if Bioware can ever get back to the heights of ME 1 and 2!
