Hello Games

There's no denying that No Man's Sky was the most anticipated new IP of 2016. This was the case for a number of reasons, ranging from the volume of publicity around its many delays and development issues, right back to the intriguing premise that it presented us with when first announced. The build-up to the release of this game became something of a perfect storm, culminating with eagerly awaited reviews having to be delayed thanks to the confirmation of a day one patch.

Now it seems that the result of all this is that No Man's Sky is suffering under the weight of its own arrival. Critical reviews have been distinctly average, especially when considering that many of the mainstream reviewers who've criticised it were largely responsible for accentuating its hype for the last two years of development. Players have been even harsher, with a great number of user reviews on Metacritic even suggesting that a many have already given up on the game.

Given that a lot of the fallout from the game's first week is making it difficult to know just what to think about the game amongst all of the rash generalisations and obscene tirades, it's time to take a step back and really consider what's actually wrong with the game.

Putting hype and hysteria aside in a sea of hateful reviews, here are ten valid complaints players can have with No Man's Sky...
