Kiss your Call of Duty goodbye tomorrow, Thursday November, 17th, as Playstation Network goes down for maintenance. According to the Playstation Blog, you will not be able to terrorize other players in Demon’s Souls from about 8AM to 10PM, a 14 hour period while Sony tinkers, though it is unclear what the nature of the tinkering is but it is said the network will be down for “routine scheduled maintenance.”
Sony’s Patrick Seybold has said however that some of the account management and registration options will remain live and for the lucky few, some online gameplay might work but it is on a completely random basis.
Playstation owners, as unfortunate as Sony’s choice to go down for 14 hours during peak time is, you dealt with a 23-day exile earlier in the year, this should be nothing!
My official suggestion: Download yesterday’s release, Jurassic Park: The Game on the Playstation Store at 7 AM and have yourself a Tyrannosaurus Thursday.
Or of course you could always turn on your Wii.

One Of the many reasons why im getting an xbox, you dont just leave the ps3 off to update for 13 hours?, for some little cheap update, i wouldnt mind if you doing it so i could speak to people on different games, so goodbye!

Great idea Sony, taking the network offline for 13 hours in the middle of the day when most people are online. Not think of doing it overnight or something? It was bad enough letting some speccy virgins disable it for a month earlier in the year but doing it yourself just to install an update we probably wont need is taking the piss. Still, it’s not nearly enough hassel to make me want to downgrade to an xbox.

It’s been a while since they did any serious maintinance, so really, calm down. If a 13 hr maintinance drives you to buy another console, go nuts. Then when that console goes down for maintence you can move on to another one. It’s a free network, so what do you honestly want. I love the PSN, it’s not perfect, but maintence is important for a network to run right. Gives people time to clean their homes & spend time with loved ones. & if it’s really that big of a deal to you. Get a life.

But yeah i worked all day came home its like 1.30 am and its not up yet. tried getting on at 3pm so thats atleast 10hrs lol f staying up for it. maintenance is life, everything needs it. think about it
