How long can broken features go unanswered?

Well, it had a good innings. Pokémon GO occasionally feels the second coming when its various systems work as one, but as the arrival of the app prompted thousands of couch-lovers to vacate the premises and get some much-needed exercise (myself included), Niantic have, well, kinda broken their own game.

By barely commenting on its success or doing many interviews (understandable somewhat, given their size) and more recently, removing the ability to even track Pokémon at all (a core feature of the game), it's resulted in thousands of negative reviews on the respective app stores, with a fervent fanbase that are less than pleased.

The following are the most talked-about issues and complaints that have arisen from the past month with Pokémon GO, and it's a crying shame, because many of these were actually totally fine at launch...

8. Pokémon Take More Balls To Catch Than Ever

At time of writing, Niantic have acknowledged this is a bug and are working on a fix, but for now, since the last major game update, an unintentional bug means players are expending scores of Pokéballs to catch anything other than green-ringed creatures.

Depending on how Niantic amend this, it does makes sense somewhat - they are balancing the option to let you catch Pokémon using standard Pokéballs, Great Balls, Ultra and Master Balls, with the CP of the Pokémon in question and the use of modifiers such as Razz Berries.

That's a lot of calculation going into the algorithm that determines if a Pokémon should bust out or not, but - as Reddit can attest - there's definitely a marked difference in how arduous it is to catch any higher-tier Pokémon.
