Pokémon Switch: 10 Ways To Make The Best Pokémon Game Ever

9. Pokémon Bank Compatibility

Ultra Sun & Moon will be the last entries in the mainline Pokémon games to call Nintendo's handhelds home; once they're out, all sights will be set on migrating Pikachu and Co. to the Switch.

It's a bold - and welcome - statement of intent, on Game Freak's part, to trigger the transition so soon, but if the developer is smart, the fresh start won't mean leaving two decades of history behind with it. Fans have spent too long trying to complete their Pokédex to see it all go to waste, after all.

As luck would have it, the groundwork required in allowing Trainers to keep their Elite Four vanquishers, past and present, alive in digital cyberspace is already there: Pokémon Bank.

Given its ability to interact with and securely store 'Mons from all generations, implementing Switch compatibility would make Bank the perfect gateway in allowing seven generations-worth of catches to live on and participate in the next step of the adventure.
