PS4: 10 Reasons It'll Win Console War Over Xbox 720

Killzone Shadow Fall

One of the most exciting things about the onset of each new generation of gaming is the ensuing console war, in which the three big-hitters - Nintendo, Microsoft and Sony - try to outdo each other with technical innovations and a more impressive library of games than each other. Though Nintendo clearly took the win in the last generation of gaming with their hyper-popular Nintendo Wii, I've got a feeling that this time, things are going to be a little different. I think that the PS4 is going to win this time. The odds are certainly in Sony's favour when you think about it; they won the two console wars prior to the last one with their PS1 and PS2, so their batting average sits them in good stead to derail both Microsoft and Sony this time. Here are 10 reasons why they're going to win...

10. The Wii-U Has Failed

Wii U One of the biggest shocks of the nascent eighth generation so far has been the abject failure of Nintendo's Wii U; not only was it poorly marketed (I didn't see a single advert or poster anywhere), but the library of games remains woefully uninspired, and simply, they just haven't given gamers - casual or not - a reason to buy one. The result has been less-than-stellar sales for the console - which a shocking amount of casual gamers seem to think is actually just an expansion - and at the start of this year, it was pulling in sales figures in North America as embarrassingly low as 50-60,000 per month (compared to the PS3 and 360, which would each pull in about 5-times that). Though things may pick up once some of the platform's killer apps are released, poor word of mouth has no doubt already killed the console's momentum stone dead, and it seems like Nintendo's reign as King is very much over.
