PlayStation 4 users fired up the console yesterday to find a new system update waiting to be downloaded, and although It might have annoyed some people who just wanted to jump straight into Bloodborne or FIFA, for others, this much-awaited firmware tweak was a nice treat. The 2.50 update codenamed 'Yukimura' arrived with a bunch of new features and fixes to toy around with. It's a pretty sizeable download and Sony told their users:

This update will make significant improvements to your PS4 experience, making it even more streamlined and enjoyable. Following the update, you€™ll be able to smoothly pick games up right where you left off, find and connect with friends quicker, customise your experience and share your most epic moments in a more meaningful way.
Long story short, it's been a long-awaited download because they've essentially been coming since the console was announced back in 2013 - while others came as a result of some more specific fan feedback. There is a full changelog available if you're interested but while there are a number of impressive technical modifications, you'll likely be more excited by the things you can start using right away.
