Resident Evil 6 Will Feature 8-player Co-op

The latest addition to the survival-horror series has a few hidden surprises. And not just the expected scary ones.

announced just a few days ago, has a few hidden surprises. Resident Evil 6, which is to be released the end of this year, is rumored to feature the traditional split screen co-op which appeared in Resident Evil 5. But the game is also supposed to include online co-op for up to 6 players and online multiplayer for up to 8, the news was announced over the Xbox Live Marketplace shortly after Capcom announced the release dates. We can't be sure if this is all just a terrible misunderstanding, as Capcom have yet to confirm or deny the features, but with this installment set to be the biggest in the series, we'd be silly not to expect a few surprises. Assuming the news is true, we expect the game to include an expanded version of the 'Mercenaries' mini game, which pits you and your friends against hordes of zombies with limited ammo and time. We also expect the return of Resident Evil 5's 'Versus' DLC, which came under some heavy criticism.
