Rumour: New XBOX & PS4 On Display at 2012 E3

Nintendo also expected to launch the Wii U at the event.

It has been rumoured for a while now that the next Xbox console would more than likely show up at E3 this year, however Sony doesn't want to be left out of the excitement so according to the major rumor of the day all three console makers will be showing off their new consoles at E3 2012. Now like I said there has been rumours of this before, but now we have a slightly more credible source; UK video game website MCV is reporting that both Microsoft and Sony will at least make some nods to the new consoles at E3 2012. MCV:
"Execs aren€™t expecting price or launch details for the new Xbox or PlayStation. But their unveiling could be a perfect spoiler to the pre-Christmas launch date and price that will be revealed for Wii U in June."
MCV's online editor Ben Parfitt stated via Twitter:
"Obviously we can't reveal our sources. But you have my personal word on this - the source is exemplary, 100% concrete, ultra high level."
MCV Editor-in-Chief Michael French also chirped in:
"This is very credible. Even if we don't see the hardware itself, or know a price or date, key publishers and developers are expecting some nod towards what direction PS4 will take at E3 this year. Sony isn't stupid - it knows that if Microsoft is planning to also say something about its next console, it can't be left behind."
I have been kind of expecting this because once Nintendo launched the Wii U nobody wanted to be left behind so I figured that Sony and Microsoft would be announcing at E3 2012, if not earlier, to compete. Microsoft was able to gain ground by releasing the Xbox 360 ahead of the other two consoles; in other words expect there to be a much smaller gap between console releases this generation. If these rumors are true this will be the first time all three console makers have shown off new consoles at E3 in its' 17 year history. This will most likely be the most entertaining E3 event ever, I can't wait. What is the number one thing you want from your next generation console?
