Bethesda Announced yesterday on their Twitter feed that that the 1.7 update for Skyrim releases sometime today on Xbox 360 and Ps3. The Xbox version of the patch is nothing special – a few memory optimizations and Dawnguard bug fixes. For Ps3 users, however, the patch also includes the 1.6 update. This means that PS3 users now have access to the long awaited mounted combat feature.
The release of 1.7 on PS3 also means something much more for PS3 users – Dawnguard is near. The update adds an “Add ons” option in the main menu, as well as preparing the game in general for the DLC. Although the last update on the DLC release date for PS3 said that “We are not satisfied yet with Dawnguard’s performance on the PS3″, it’s still a relief to see that Bethesda is preparing the console for Dawnguard’s release (which will hopefully be in the coming weeks.
However, European PS3 users have to wait another week for the new patch. With Bethesda giving no explanation, fans in Europe are left wondering why they’ve been deprived of the update. With hype for the DLC on PS3 already dwindling rapidly, yet more time for fans to wait is doing nothing but hindering Bethesda’s popularity.

Dammit Bethesda, all I want are my mounted combat and some more bug fixes, is that so much to ask for?

Has been a while now to be honest Tom Howards should apologize for this and have and interview live and explain why? It has taken so damm long and why europe should wait longer!!!
I got no Add On option after I installed the patch on my PS3.

I have no add on option ither!? And some of the misc quest still not completing when it really is(i.e visit the college of winterhold)
The Europeans probably have to wait because they use the PAL standard. I guess that the PAL version is slower than the NTSC version.
I love skyrim so much, that i won’t get ride of it, but the fact that europe have to wait another week is un-fair, its all on the PS3, can’t be that difercult to do it.

Its been over a week now and I still havent got the 1.6(1.7)patch for skyrim?
Just tried to find/download updates (1.7) and nothing there. To add insult to injury, Skyrim has just frozen (again) and I’ve got to redo the past 20-30 minutes gametime again!! Must remember to save it before I go into water next time!!!
I give up! I will not be providing bethesda with any more of my money. The 30 day exclusivity thing being bad enough but understandable, if that was the only reason for the delay I would still be getting Dawnguard DLC. But the fact that they couldn’t be bothered to start working on it until enough PS3 users started to complain means they obviously don’t want our money. Also if they had said from the start that PS3 users will get it 2/3 or even 4 months later that would still be acceptable but nothing? no update whatsoever as to when or even if it will ever be released is entirely unacceptable (BTW some guy on twitter is no way to keep customers informed, not that he has ever given any useful info anyway) and now not bothering to give an update to Europe customers is way out of line. I have stopped plying the game altogether now, and unless dawnguard (if its ever released) is hugely reduced in price I will never be giving bethesda any more of my money ever again.
