Bethesda are believed to be busy at work on ‘Hearthfire’, the second and latest DLC content for Skyrim.
With this latest project underway, there are concerns that the company are neglecting PS3 fans who are still eagerly waiting for Dawnguard, the first expansion pack, to hit the console.
Although unconfirmed, the latest DLC is scheduled for an October release.
‘Hearthfire’ refers to the 9th month in the Elder Scrolls calendar, which thematically would be a fitting title for the fantasy RPG’s next batch of DLC.
The new content features zombies (seen above) and is expected to tie in with the Halloween season.
The news will anger PS3 fans who thought that Bethesda would release Dawnguard to their system after a 30 day period of exclusivity with Microsoft had expired, but it has been almost a month now since that agreement came to an end, and we are still no closer to seeing Dawnguard on the horizon any time soon.
Hearthfire has already got its fair share of critics, too, with many accusing Bethesda of laziness by using zombies – a well used DLC feature in several games already on the market – to make a cheap buck during the Halloween season, especially as zombies are already present in Skyrim anyway.
It is still unclear whether new terrain, missions, weapons and armory will come with the latest DLC or if it will just be a simple case of adding zombies to the game as a more regular foe, with a potential “zombie virus” to hit the residents of Tamriel.
There are now serious concerns that both Dawnguard and Hearthfire may remain Xbox 360 titles, with PS3 and PC users potentially missing out on the latest action yet again by falling two expansion packs behind – something which to most fans would come as a bitter pill to swallow.

Well, this isn’t surprising at all. It’s unfortunate for Skyrim to fall so quickly. The game could use a serious expansion, like the ones games used to get back in the good old days.
Dawnguard is on the PC…they wouldn’t be falling “2 DLCs behind” the 360…
There should be some, exclusivity, for PlayStation owners when the next DLC is released, or at least the other two aren’t released until the one for the PlayStation is ready. So it’s fair for everyone and so Bethesda doesn’t lose anymore die-hard fans. It’s utter crap that Dawnguard stil isn’t released, WE WANT ANSWERS!
Well this will suck if it’s yet another xbox360 exclusive; like Dawnguard, if they are out to lose fans, and potentially cash for their back pockets, go ahead. Then again Skyrim was made for 360 just like a lot of games these days, bloody Microsoft trying to sway people from PS3 to their clucky console. PC will always reign supreme anyway, Mods ftw. :P
Are you an idiot? There is nothing concrete to base what you are saying on. It is purely speculation to begin with. You seriously need to do some major fact checking before you write an article like this. This just gets people going unnecessarily.
And if there is something concrete to base this article on, you need to bleeding source it!
it’s lack of information that hurts, most of the games they have made have had or have got bugs.
get your games, dlc and patches right first before release, not give them to one console but deny another.
“Bethesda are believed…”
“Although unconfirmed…”
“It is still unclear…”
I realise it’s speculative… Because I wrote the article knowing these things anyway.
At least this article is putting your creative writing degree to good use.
Umm yeah I think bethesda needs to make up for there lie to ps3 users about dawnguard being released 30 days after the 360′s dawnguard release date by coming out with both dlcs at once for ps3 users. I hope things work out for the better!
If people actually paid attention they would know that Dawnguard has trouble working on ps3. There is a lot of compatibility issues with it. Skyrim has trouble enough, but dawnguyard makes matters worse. AS an xbox 360 user I can’t complain to much, but I see a lot of problems with Dawnguard, so it will take a while to iron out.
This is stuipd and needs deleteing the 9th month is september DUH
