Elder Scrolls Skyrim, one of the most anticipated games of the year will be released next month, and today we got our first look at what requirements are needed to run the game on a PC. Bethesda PR and Marketing's Pete Hines today listed the minimum and recommended requirements for your PC to be able to run Skyrim, stating;

"The Min specs get you playing. The recommended specs let you play on High, not on Ultra. You'll want beefier rig for that."
Here are the recommended requirements:Minimum Hardware Requirements: OS: Win XP/7/Vista (32 or 64 bit) CPU: Dual Core RAM: 2GB GPU: DX9c video card w/ 512MB RAM Internet Access for Steam activation Recommended Hardware Requirements: OS: Win XP/7 CPU: Quad-Core Intel/AMD CPU RAM: 4GB GPU: DX9 vid card w/ 1 GB. GTX 260/Radeon 4890 or higher Internet Access for Steam activation In addition, Skyrim will need a internet connection to activate retail copies because it is a Steamworks title. So we still don't know what will be required for Skyrim to run on Ultra, but your PC must be better than what is recommended for the High setting for it to be able to run the Ultra setting. Is your PC going to be able to run Skyrim on High or Ultra settings? I think my PC only meets a few of the recommended hardware requirements so I will be purchasing my copy on the Xbox 360. Release Date: November 11, 2011
