South Park: The Fractured But Whole Review - 7 Ups & 3 Downs

2. It's Not As Fresh As The First Game

2014's The Stick of Truth was a huge breath of fresh air, and uproariously funny proof of how great video games based on TV shows and movies have the potential to be.

The Fractured but Whole, for all the great things it does, doesn't quite manage to capture the same freshness, and surprisingly tones the absurdity down a few notches.

Though it would be silly to suggest that the game was safe or tame, there's nothing here on the level of Khloe Kardashian's Nazi zombie fetus from the original, and overall it feels like Matt Stone and Trey Parker struggled to one-up their previous effort.

While there's no shame in the game failing to top its incredible predecessor, fans were probably expecting a little more outrageousness overall.
