With just under a month until the most hotly anticipated MMORPG of the year arrives on shelves, developers BioWare have releasesd a brand new trailer revealing a new Flashpoint for Star Wars: The Old Republic. The Flashpoint will challenge both Republic and Sith players to take back a strategic battle station from the Advozsec. Here's the official synopsis from BioWare:
The 'Hammer,' a powerful prototype battle station developed by the Republic, was thought to have been destroyed in the war, but it has mysteriously reappeared in the possession of the expansionist Advozsec. Determined to assert their new power, the Advozsec have been using the weapon to conquer neutral worlds in the Outer Rim. Now, before the Hammer can strike again, both the Galactic Republic and Sith Empire have set plans in motion to the station down.
And the trailer itself... http://youtu.be/YmRqtBP28hs For the uninitiated, Flashpoints are four-player stand-alone objectives with traditionally sizeable rewards for those who can overcome the challenges, which the in-game vocabularly defines thusly:
Band together with your most trusted allies to undertake some of the most dangerous missions in the galaxy! Flashpoints are action-packed, story-driven adventures that test a group of players to their limits, putting them up against difficult foes in volatile situations. You and your group need your wits, your skills, and all your resources to emerge victorious. Every Flashpoint begins with an exciting story and contains difficult decisions €“ choose carefully, because your group€™s choices have a meaningful impact on the challenges you€™ll face, the enemies you€™ll fight, and the outcome of the story! All the danger is certainly worthwhile; the rewards from Flashpoints are some of the most powerful you€™ll find.
Star Wars: The Old Republic launches on December 20th, with early access available to those who choose to pre-order it.
