EAannounced yesterday that they will be limiting the number of people who can initially play Star Wars: The Old Republic, to manage the number of people who play the game on their servers. EA has capped the number of physical and digital copies that can be sold. Apparently, once a certain number of copies have been sold, EA will stop allowing users to buy the game until they can add servers. EA Spokesperson:

"We are limiting launch quantities of Star Wars: The Old Republic to ensure players have a smooth and high quality game experience and service at launch, All versions of the game €” physical and digital €” are available for pre-order on a limited basis only. Once they are gone, they are gone."
The number of how many games sold until EA shuts off sales is unknown, however there are rumors that the number is 500,000 and only the first 50,000 are guaranteed, the rest are put on a waiting list. Star Wars: The Old Republic is due to release later this year, well for some people at least. Is this news going to affect your decision on to pre-order the game?
