Valve Announces Left 4 Dead 2 Cold Stream DLC

Valve finally gives release date for Left 4 Dead 2 DLC.

Today Valve announced that new DLC will be coming to Left 4 Dead 2 later this month, the downloadable pack called Cold Steam for Left 4 Dead 2 will be available on July 24. Cold Steam will be available on Xbox 360, PC, and Mac; but Xbox 360 users will get a special bonus, the content will include "original Left 4 Dead€™s Blood Harvest, Crash Course, Dead Air and Death Toll campaigns." Cold Steam has been in beta testing since March 2011 and Valve stated €œthere are some other surprises€ that will be revealed at a later time. Valve also announced that:
"With the update going out at the same time (also for the PC), all of the mutations will be available at all times. This will allow players to choose to match into games playing Taannkk!, Gib Fest, or even a user created mutation like Confogl."
As of right now this is all the information we have on the DLC, but Valve does say that in the coming weeks they will post new information about the content. One of those news items will have to be pricing, because Valve has yet to announce how much this DLC pack will cost. Cold Steam has been a long time coming but that tends to be a distinguished Valve's quality, a game or content is done only when we say it is. I would probably pick this DLC up just to have the ability to play through the original Left 4 Dead campaigns in Left 4 Dead 2. I don't know, I may be one of the few people who preferred the original Left 4 Dead to Left 4 Dead 2. Is there anyone out there like me who liked Left 4 Dead over Left 4 Dead 2?
