Details on The Mummy 3

fraserweisz2.jpgSci-Fi Wire have got some interesting tidbits on the plans for the Rob Cohen directed third installment of The Mummy series. According to the movie's writers Al Gough and Miles Millar, the film will focus on Rick (Brendan Fraser) and Evie (Rachel Weisz) along with their now grown up son that was in The Mummy Returns. The best news though, is that the movie will focus on a brand new Mummy. On the possible return of Fraser and Weisz to the franchise, Gough said... "They're in negotiations...So the plan is to bring them back. I think it'll end up being Brendan and Rachel, ultimately. They're the core of the movie. That's why people love the Mummy movies. And then it's taking that and then expanding it and introducing new character and a new mummy.......So we're really excited to get going. We met with Rob Cohen today, and he's really jazzed to do it. So fingers crossed, God willing, we'll be shooting this summer and it'll be out in the summer of '08." I would find it hard to believe that anyone would be interested in the seeing the movie if Weisz and Fraser couldn't return for the franchise. Even if they are returning, it doesn't really matter. After all, it is Rob Cohen directing. source - sci fi wire, coming soon
