Enter the Digital Bruce Lee

BruceLee1.jpgEveryone's favourite director Rob Cohen has spoke a little to Latino Review on the state of the second Bruce Lee movie of his career, Rage and Fury. As Bruce Lee has been dead for 30 years, is the plan for Cohen to use clips from his past films.... "The big headline is that I am NOT using clips from the film; I am creating an entirely photo-realistic Bruce Lee with new, advanced digital technlogy. Digital Domain who did "XXX" and "Stealth" with me are on it big time... This will be the first digital actor and I am very excited about the challenge". A little creepy if you ask me, and a very risky move. A whole character done with digital effects? Not even something like Spider-Man does that for the whole film, and it's hell of a lot easier to make a superhero CGI look more realistic than an real life actor. For the sound of the movie, the whole script has been written with lines of dialogue from various Bruce Lee movies and interviews he did in the past. I must say this sounds very ambitious and VERY VERY dumb. I can't see how this can possibly work. You will have a digital actor of a movie legend which quite frankly I'm skeptical of it looking any good anyway, along with voice dialogue with different ranges, emotions and time periods of Lee's life along with what HAS TO BE a shit script and story weaved together with the limited dialogue they could use. This could be a train wreck, but I guess they are sometimes fun to watch so we can laugh at them.
