Only two options open for Halo?

halo31.jpgComing Soon have posted an interesting article from Variety looking at the dim future of the Halo project, where it seems their is only two studio's that are possible contenders to finance the film. After Universal Pictures and 20th Century Fox backed out, they are left with... Sony - No chance because their Playstation are direct rivals to Microsoft's Xbox Disney - Apple CEO Steve Jobs largest shareholder in company, another direct rival to Microsoft, this time in the personal computer market. New Line - Halo producers Peter Jackson and Fran Walsh currently suing the company over Lord of the Rings disputes, ruling them out of the running. So that leaves Halo with only two viable options for financial backers of the big budget movie... Warner Brothers and Paramount. Warner Brothers have apparentaly balked out of any deal so far because of a tough financial year and they don't think the project is profitable for them. More bad news for Halo is that the script is going through a THIRD REWRITE after the first draft by Alex Garland was rewritten by D.B. Weiss and will now again be rewritten by Josh Olson. Sad to say it folks but Halo is on life support, and it's dying with each every week that passes. source - variety, coming soon
