Aronofsky, Self confirmed for 2010's ROBOCOP!

So it's official, Robocop will be added to the recent sequels of other 80's action classics Rambo, Die Hard and Terminator in making it's way back to the big screen. But this one, has a MEGA talented (though I have yet to like one of his films fully) director behind the helm and a very good screenwriter also.

Darren Aronofsky (The Fountain, Requiem for a Dream) is confirmed to direct, David Self (The Wolf Man, Road to Perdition) will scribe. MGM have put aside $100 million for the film, which has a Summer 2010 release. The movie will be set in Los Angeles 20 years after the suspension of the original RoboCop program in New Detroit.
"Darren is undeniably one of the most talented, original and visceral film makers, and David is one of the greatest writers in Hollywood. All of us at MGM couldn't be more excited."
Aronofsky got further than he did trying to reinvent the Batman franchise. Now here is his chance to show the world what we can do with a Blockbuster. Is he the next Chris Nolan? source - coming soon
