Brad Pitt has his eye on the MONEYBALL

Columbia Pictures have hired Steve Zaillian to adapt Michael Lewis€™ nonfiction bestseller MONEYBALL: THE ART OF WINNING AN UNFAIR GAME, with David Frankel (THE DEVIL WEARS PRADA) set to direct. The project, about Oakland A€™s manager Billy Beane, who assembled a contending baseball club on a small budget by employing a sophisticated computer-based analysis to draft players... is being setup as a potential starring vehicle for Brad Pitt. The novel was first optioned in 2004 by Sony, set out to showcase that the general image of baseball insiders (agents, managers, scouts, coaches) has been flawed and highly subjective. Even when looking at batting averages, stolen bases etc... it still couldn't compare to Beane's computer system. The project is just one of many on Brad Pitt's slate who can next be seen in THE CURIOUS CASE OF BENJAMIN BUTTON, opening in December. After that, he can be seen next year in THE TREE OF LIFE for Terrence Malick.. followed by Quentin Tarantino's new film which should be ready for Cannes. source - variety
