Breaking: Tom Hardy in BATMAN 3, probably as The Riddler

Riddle me this, Riddle Me that - which villain has Tom Hardy been picked to play opposite the big black bat? On the 3rd of January this year I wrote a passionate plea as the top entry in my 'Batman 3' wishlist to WB that I wanted the then 32 year old to play The Riddler. I have been campaigning for Hardy to win the role for ALL of 2010 and every single time I've mentioned the actor in any news story, I've reminded you how he was born to play the part. Upon seeing Chris Nolan's 'Inception', I was even more convinced that the director could scour the Earth and never find anyone better or more suited to wear that bowler hat and green suit covered in question marks (or whatever version it'll be in Nolan's movie). The solution of The Riddle as to who should play Edward Nygma was right under his nose all along and I think Nolan knew it. Less than thirty minutes ago Mike Fleming reported that Hardy has today been cast in the still untitled 'Batman 3'. We don't officially know what role yet, or whether it's even going to be villainous, but we all know it's gotta be The Riddler. Absolutely, positively, 100%. The flamboyance of his 'Inception' performance mixed with the sinister, physicality of 'Bronson' is what I would expect from Hardy's Riddler. It'll be something unique, and something you won't quite expect. That much is a given. Right, time to officially get excited about 'Batman 3' that is casting now, eying a Spring start. Oh, and maybe this is why 'Mad Max 4' was delayed, and not the Australian rain eh?
