Cameron hires Weta for Avatar

James Cameron.jpgJames Cameron has hired the New-Zealand based visual effects company Weta to work on his long anticapted return to feature films with his upcoming sci-fi flick Avatar. Weta are the company responsible for the awesome special effects in the "Lord of the Rings Trilogy", "King Kong" and "Narnia".I don't think that the casting of any A-List oscar winning actor would be better news for the project than the hiring of Weta for the special effects. They do a terrific job with every project they work on and their last movie "King Kong" won them a special effects oscar. Here is some info on the movie, taken from comingsoon.net.. "Avatar takes place in the future, where Jake, a paraplegic war veteran is brought to another planet, Pandora, which is inhabited by the Na'vi, a humanoid race with their own language and culture. Those from Earth find themselves at odds with each other and the local culture". I'm really looking forward to this movie. James Cameron and Weta are constantly pushing the boundaries of new technology and Cameron promises that his Avatar will use a range of new filmic techniques which he has been working on since "Titanic". source - comingsoon
