Craven says no Neve Campbell in new SCREAM TRILOGY, expects script in August

Simon Reynolds from Digital Spy has in the last ten minutes pointed me towards an exclusive interview he conducted with the legendary Wes Craven who was refreshingly chatty about what the status is right now with the resurrected Scream franchise. He confirms that Scream creator Kevin Williamson is now writing (he expects to see it in August) the first of a "brand new trilogy" (which first seemed like an outlandish rumor back in February) and that he himself is so far remaining cautious, agreeing to The Weinsteins offer of reading the script, but only that for now. scream31 Although he doesn't yet know the premise, he does know a few big bits of odds and ends, including the biggest hint yet that no part has been written for Neve Campbell, and also that last weeks story of The Arquettes coming back to the series was true...

"I've been told, and I don't think they'll mind if I say this, the deals on David Arquette and Courteney are virtually set. I believe everybody else will be new."
Which of course will make us all believe throughout the movie that this unseen killer will probably end up being Sidney. So it seems Williamson has more in mind than a meta-meta-physical movie as I suggested, and I guess we still have to play the guessing game with this series. Are The Arquettes to be the main characters shacked up somewhere else with the killers stalking them and bringing death to those in their proximity, or will they be murdered in the first reel like Cotton Weary in Scream 3? As always, more nuggets of info just bring up more unanswered questions.
