AICN is probably giving credence to a legion of ignorant fanboys by re-posting and not damning the false story that Chris Nolan is currently rummaging through small reels of unused footage from
Heath Ledger's Oscar winning turn in
The Dark Knight to include in the forthcoming third film,
The Dark Knight Rises.
"The idea is to use these fragments of cut scenes and use CGI to have The Joker appear one last time," a source explained. "Chris wants some continuity between movies and for the franchise to pay tribute to Heath and his portrayal of the Joker."
The story is easily dismissed because from everything we've heard because no deleted or unused scenes exist from The Dark Knight. Of course there will be different takes, but no scenes weren't shot that didn't make it to the dance. Yes, amazing as it sounds... Chris Nolan shot everything that was story-boarded and used everything in his final cut. That's how precise and methodical a director he is. Alfred Hitchcock was exactly the same.
And honestly, do you really think Nolan, the perfectionist who doesn't use a second unit cameraman and who only uses CGI when completely necessary and to move forward a story, would awkwardly be piecing together bits and bobs for his new film? No. Of course fucking not. Nolan is to precise for that.
