First Look: Chris Evans as CAPTAIN AMERICA, concept style!!

Today has been a case of "is it real or isnt it?" for this early concept art for Captain America: The First Avenger that Aint It Cool Newsposted earlier (and every Tom, Dick, and Coming Soon subsequently reposted in a frenzy).

So is it real?

Well, comic book fans, it has now been confirmed by Mike Sampson at JoBlo that the artwork is in fact the real deal, having mysteriously leaked to the web from an unknown source.

It's good news as far as I'm concerned. The suit looks great and will look suitably awesome attached to the newly sculpted muscles of star Chris Evans. And, even better, as eager fans will surely attest, the design is not far away from Marvel's Ultimates version of Cap (a personal favourite).

The artwork itself is fantastically detailed, and I for one am already reaching for my calendar to count down the days to July 22nd 2011. Let's just hope it has more in common with comic cohort Iron Man, and notThe Incredible Hulk.
