First looks at THE DAY THE EARTH STOOD STILL, GHOST TOWN & ROCK N ROLLA
Lots of new posters have hit the Cinema Expo in Amsterdam, including our first look at some big upcoming films. First up it's The Day The Earth Stood Still remake starring Keanu Reeves which is going for the same colour scheme and look of both The Invasion and The Happening. Don't these studio's ever learn?
Next up it's British funnyman Ricky Gervais in his first on screen leading role in a big motion picture. It's Ghost Town, a David Koepp (Secret Window) movie about a bit of a doctor with a bad attitude who dies unexpectedly but is revived after a few minutes and begins to see ghosts who all want something from him. A little like A Christmas Carroll? This is Gervais' warm-up to his first writing, directing and acting movie This Side of the Truth and this one co-stars Tea Leoni and Greg Kinnear. Tag Lines are a bit weird but it's out in October and I bet your as curious as I am to see how Gervais can do on film. Then there's the new Guy Ritchie movie Rock N Rolla which I think I speak for everyone when I say we desperately want to see a movie that isn't as up it's own ass as Revolver was. Hopefully he has taken a note of what Matthew Vaughn did with Layer Cake and has watched that a hundred times in preparation. He certainly has his Daniel Craig-esque leading man with Gerard Butler and a good supporting cast too, with hopefully lots of screen time for Tom Wilkinson who is one of the best we have right now. We should see a trailer soon... MORE POSTERS LINKED VIA THIS PAGE - but honestly there's nothing that interesting or they are just variations of what we have seen already. source - coming soon
