FLASH GORDON speeds up!

Writers found for Sony's tentpole remake!

Dracula Year Zero scribes Burk Sharpless and Matt Sazama have been hired by Sony to reinvent the Flash Gordon franchise which currently has Breck Eisner (Sahara) attached to direct. Eisner has kept close to the project despite the original rights belonging to Universal and changing to Sony just a few months back. The 75 year old character who has already starred in a memorably fun 1980's flick played by Sam J. Jones and co-starring Max von Sydow, Timothy Dalton and Brian Blessed - is seen ripe for a new big budget movie despite a recent t.v. series flopping and getting the can after just one season. source - the hollywood reporter
