Fox's reaction to Disney buying Marvel? - they are rebooting FANTASTIC FOUR!

Disney had bought out Marvel came a response that the $4 billion deal WOULD NOT effect the ownership of Spider-Man, X-Men, Daredevil and Fantastic Four franchises (including the Silver Surfer) which at least cinematically, are the property of other studios. Spidey at Sony, the rest at Fox. I'm not certain when these character deals expire at Fox but Variety say as long as the studio continues to make films out of the franchise, they will continue to have control over the characters. And to kind of reiterate this point, 20th Century Fox have announced boldly this morning that they are to reboot the Fantastic Four franchise after two horrendous movies in five years, a story they have been holding on for a while. Which is cool because we haven't seen these characters done any kind of justice so far, and it's a way better idea than bringing back the mostly talentless group from the original two movies for a shitty third outing. ...but the real bad news is that Akiva Goldsman - writer of the awful Batman Forever and Batman & Robin, has been hired to produce. Michael Green - co-writer of Warner Bros. upcoming Green Lantern, and a scribe on Heroes is in charge of the screenplay. Fox must have real short memories because Goldsman was one of the major players who killed the Batman universe at Warner Bros. for eight years. I wouldn't expect any of the talent (actors and direct0r) from the original movie to return, and hopefully it also means we will avoid an origin movie situation. Let's just see a FF film begin with the characters developed and I would love to see them older, with deeper human problems this time around. With established thirty or forty something character actors hired in the lead roles.
