Is Ridley Scott entering A BRAVE NEW WORLD?

So Ridley Scott has told us this week that after two decades he has finally found a sci-fi novel that has inspired him to make a movie again in the genre that made him famous with back to back movies Alien and Blade Runner. So speculation now mounts over what said novel could be. Awards Daily believes it could be Brave New World, Aldus Huxley€™s novel of futuristic dystopia which for the last few years has been in the hands of Leonardo DiCaprio. This could make some sense as DiCaprio has just starred in the newly titled House of Lies for Scott and he could have shown the novel to Scott then.

The novel was written over 70 years ago but is actually set in London 2540 where humanity lives carefree and without the threat of war but of course art, science, relegion and all other forms of human experession have been culled. Except promiscious sex and drug taking - the latter the government use to keep society happy. It's a massive plot with complex plot and themes but if you have the time I'm sure WIKI's article will have all the answers you are looking for. Gattaca writer/director Andrew Niccol adapted the script and I would say they could be spot on with that speculation. Anyone got any suggestions of which currently un-adapted science fiction novel they would love to see Scott take a crack at? source - rope of silicon
