Jeff Nathanson to write Spielberg's 39 CLUES

Writer of Spielberg's THE TERMINAL and CATCH ME IF YOU CAN on Spielberg's young teen franchise.

Jeff Nathanson who worked with Steven Spielberg on Catch Me If You Can, The Terminal and Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull has been tapped up by the legendary director once again to write the upcoming kid's franchise project The 39 Clues. Adapted from the upcoming Scholastic Media multiplatform adventure series, the movie centers around the Cahills -- the most powerful family the world has ever known. The source of its power is a mystery that can only be unraveled by assembling 39 clues hidden around the world throughout history. It's kind of Indy Jones meets National Treasure but strictly aimed at the young teen audience.

Depending on how busy or what mood Spielberg is in come the time the script is complete, he will either direct or fob it off to someone else. Spielberg is expected to work on Tintin in a matter of weeks before moving on to his much talked about Lincoln biopic early next year. source - variety
