Jim Carrey wants to enjoy some Me Time

camw10802140531_widec.jpgJim Carrey looks set to once again fall back on comedy after his latest dramatic role in The Number 23, didn't really catch on with audiences. The movie is titled Me Time, and will see him play a house husband.... Story revolves around a writer penning a book about his great-great-grandmother, a frontier woman. When his pregnant wife has to go on bed rest, leaving him to care for the house and their other child, his confidence is shaken as he reads his ancestor's diary, in which she describes raising a family, plowing the fields and taming the wild environs. Does that really sound like a comedy to you? Maybe Variety have got the genre incorrect or are leaving a big part of the plot absent, but how on earth is reading an ancestor's diary about raising kids and plowing fields anything to laugh about? Carrey, who we have reported on many occasions, had to pull out of three movies last year because of either "creative differences" or "budget concerns" depending on where you get your info from. Reality is, it was probably a bit of both. It's a real shame his dramatic performances never seem to catch on all that much with audiences, because I think that's what he is best at... and is surely the direction he should be going in now that he is 45 years old. source - variety
