Josh Holloway's not Lost with Marvel

Lost star Josh Holloway who played James "Sawyer" Ford for six years on the hit TV show must have a fair bit of time on his hands now that the series has finished, and what better way to advance his career from the small screen to the big screen than to join forces with Marvel Studios? Rumour has it that Marvel are talking to Holloway about him playing a 'lead' role in an upcoming Marvel film. Once wanted for X-Men: The Last Stand as Gambit, a part he was unable to partake due to filming commitments for Lost (and in fact a role that was cut for the film, and not used until the movie later), speculation now turns to which character or indeed which movie Holloway is lined up for. If in fact any - as Holloway's reps have since decided to deny the reports as €œjust a rumor" - but isn't everything nowadays? But say it was true and he is being lined up for a Marvel role. What would he be suited for... How about Ant-Man in Edgar Wright's long-gestated superhero film? What about Hawkeye aka Clint Barton, which would place him in The Avengers movie too or a role as an officer of S.H.I.E.L.D and one of the most experienced members of Nick Fury's team such as Timothy "Dum Dum" Dugan. If he's not going to be in The Avenger's there's a chance he could be in Matthew Vaughn'sX-Men prequel, starring alongside James McAvoy, who has been cast as the young Professor Xavier. We don't know how he would fit in or who he would play in the prequel, and to be honest we can't see him playing anyone in X-Men other than Gambit, a role he was surely born to play. If this rumour is true it's good news for all you Lostie's out there who are missing Sawyer's bad boy antics and manly rugged good looks and who want to see more of him, alas in a different role. If Holloway wants to transcend his career to the big screen, a role in a Marvel movie would certainly steer him in the right direction.
