Mysterio will be in Spider-Man 3!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

mysterio.jpgYes this article deserves every exclamation mark given to it's title. In what is the most awesome news I've heard in a long time, Film Ick is reporting that Bruce Campbell will indeed be playing the role of Quentin Beck (aka Mysterio) in Spider-Man 3, but it's not quite what you would expect. Spoilers ahead (from Film Ick)... "Peter Parker finds out about a Spider-Man movie being made and goes to the set to check it out. Avi Arad and Sam Raimi have cameos as the producer and director. Quentin Beck is the movie's special FX guy". How genius and creative is that? Awesome. We have been teased about Bruce Campbell actually being Quentin Beck in the first two movies (ring annoucer in first movie, theater usher in second) who for those wondering the character in the comics had a series of dead-end jobs (one of which was working on special effects at a filmset dreaming to be a star or director) that he eventually became a disgruntled super villain with his knowledge of illusions and special effects to be an effective foe of Spider-Man. This is one of the great things that Sam Raimi has done with the Spider-Man movies, he has placed all of these characters and possible future plots into the franchise that they can develop over time (Harry as Green Goblin II, Dr. Curt Connors as The Lizard, John Jameson as Man-Wolf). Just imagine in the fourth movie, they could go with Bruce Campbell as one of the main villains when he decides to take on the role of Mysterio outside of the film set. That would be something to see, it would be fantastic to see Bruce Campbell as a villain on something as big as Spider-Man. I really can't wait for this thing. We get to see The Sandman, Green Goblin II, VENOM (something I must admit I thought we would never see) and now Bruce Campbell as Mysterio. Roll on May 4th 2007, it can't come quick enough! source - film ick
