Christian Bale was rushing from his publicity duties on
The Fighter in New York to haul himself to L.A. to screentest opposite the actresses' we now know are to
test for The Dark Knight Rises. Which basically means that casting is getting serious, very serious indeed. In fact, the tests could be underway as you read this, in a view to casting someone this week.
Chris Nolan will be watching closely how his actresses' play off Bale and whether there's a chemistry between them, which is often more important than who is actually best suited for the character. She could be the greatest actress in the world but without a furious sexual chemistry with Bale, they shouldn't come close to winning this role. Now after THR's article, it looks likely

Rachel Weisz - who for me ticks three important boxes (Believable as a daughter to Liam Neeson, strong enough personality to believe she runs a criminal empire, can play the innocent and sexy femme fatale with ease).
